Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") explains how Ascendant Proxies Services may and may not be used. It is part of our Terms of Service. Our proxy infrastructure is intended for lawful and legitimate internet-access purposes. Customers are responsible for their activity while using Ascendant Services.

1. Permitted Uses

  • Web testing.
  • Market research, including price and availability monitoring.
  • Data collection conducted lawfully.
  • Website and application testing.
  • Cybersecurity research conducted with authorization.
  • Geographic testing.
  • Advertising verification.
  • Network testing.
  • Automation that complies with applicable laws, the terms of the sites you access, and this AUP.
  • Other lawful internet-access purposes.

A permitted use does not override the laws or terms applicable to the destination being accessed.

2. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Services, or allow anyone else to use them, to do any of the following:

Fraud and deception

  • Commit fraud.
  • Conduct payment fraud.
  • Impersonate individuals or organizations.
  • Steal identities.
  • Conduct phishing.
  • Obtain credentials through deception.
  • Conduct or facilitate scams.

Automated purchasing and platform abuse

  • Use automated checkout, cart, or purchasing bots (including sneaker, retail, or ticket bots) to buy goods, services, or event tickets, or to reserve inventory.
  • Circumvent purchase limits, queues, waiting rooms, CAPTCHAs, or other anti-bot measures.
  • Use bots or other automated means to buy event tickets, or buy tickets in violation of the Better Online Ticket Sales (BOTS) Act or similar laws.
  • Create accounts in bulk, by automated means, or with false identities.
  • Conduct credential stuffing or account-takeover attempts.
  • Commit click fraud or ad fraud, or generate fake traffic, views, or engagement.

Cyber abuse

  • Gain unauthorized access to systems, including government, military, or financial-institution systems.
  • Deploy malware.
  • Conduct ransomware attacks.
  • Conduct denial-of-service attacks.
  • Exploit vulnerabilities without authorization.
  • Attack infrastructure.
  • Attempt to compromise accounts or systems.
  • Interfere with networks or services.

Abuse and harassment

  • Harass, threaten, stalk, or intimidate individuals.
  • Conduct targeted abuse.
  • Send spam or unsolicited bulk messages.
  • Conduct abusive automated messaging.
  • Engage in any activity that involves the sexual exploitation of minors or that targets or harms minors.
  • Facilitate unlawful harmful activity.

Intellectual property

  • Infringe copyrights, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, or other intellectual property rights.
  • Circumvent technical protections for the purpose of infringing rights.
  • Facilitate unauthorized distribution of protected materials.

Circumvention

You may not use Ascendant Services to circumvent legal restrictions, security controls, authentication mechanisms, account restrictions, access controls, or other technical protections where doing so is unauthorized or unlawful.

Other prohibited activity

Any use that violates applicable federal, state, local, or international law is prohibited, including using the Services to evade sanctions or export controls.

3. Security and Infrastructure Abuse

You may not intentionally place excessive or unreasonable loads on Ascendant infrastructure, upstream providers, websites, networks, or third-party services. You may not disrupt Ascendant infrastructure, circumvent bandwidth limits, evade account restrictions, exploit vulnerabilities in Ascendant systems, reverse engineer restricted components, or interfere with another customer's Services.

4. Account Sharing

Customers may not share proxy credentials publicly or distribute credentials to unauthorized parties. Ascendant may revoke credentials that appear compromised or abused.

5. Monitoring

Ascendant may monitor account activity, service usage, bandwidth consumption, authentication events, and other technical information as reasonably necessary to provide Services, maintain security, prevent fraud, investigate abuse, enforce this AUP, protect customers and third parties, and comply with applicable law.

6. Abuse Reports

Reports of suspected abuse may be submitted to abuse@ascendantproxies.com. Reports should include sufficient information for us to investigate the alleged activity.

7. Enforcement

Depending on the circumstances, Ascendant may investigate the account, request additional information, temporarily restrict access, revoke proxy credentials, suspend or terminate the account, restrict future purchases, or report suspected illegal activity to appropriate authorities where required or appropriate. We may take immediate action when necessary to protect our infrastructure, customers, providers, or third parties.

Refunds may be denied for accounts suspended or terminated under this AUP, as described in our Refund Policy.
